Restoring 9 km of the Maskeliya Oya

We have joined hands with WNPS‑PLANT and multiple partners to restore a 9 km corridor along the Maskeliya Oya, because protecting water starts with protecting where it flows from. Through LNF, we will plant 3,500+ native trees in our segment to stabilize riverbanks, filter runoff, curb erosion, and rebuild habitat for wildlife. This is more than tree planting; it’s a long‑term commitment to watershed health powered by science‑led species selection, community stewardship, and ongoing care. As the canopy returns, so will cooler waters, richer biodiversity, and greater resilience for the people who depend on this river.
